At few kilometers away from Roma, Villa Adriana lies between the Monti Tiburtini. This incredible piece of architecture is the result of taste, experience and innovations accumulated by the Emperor Hadrian (76-138) in the course of his travels in the provinces of the empire.

A sumptuous imperial villa, consists of a complex of baths, theaters, plazas and towers in an area declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1999, and also visited today on special occasions.

Una sontuosa villa imperiale, costituita da un complesso di terme, teatri, piazze e torri, in un’area dichiarata Patrimonio dell’umanità dall’Unesco sin dal 1999, e oggi visitabile anche in occasioni speciali.

Eventi come la mostra «Adriano e la Grecia», a cura di Elena Calandra e Benedetta Adembri, che affianca oltre venti opere in qualche caso mai uscite dai musei di Atene, Loukou, Maratona, Pireo e Corinto, a quelle rielaborate dall’imperatore per la sua residenza romana, in un inedito gioco di specchi tra classicità ed ellenismo dell’imperatore che portò a Roma il sistema politico e culturale greco.
